Terms & Conditions
Booking Agreement — These are our terms and conditions outlined below. By booking a reservation with us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
Arrival Confirmation — We require our arrival confirmation form be filled out at least 7 days prior to your arrival to better serve you (or as soon as possible if you make your booking less than 7 days from arrival!) This form will ask for the full names of all room occupants as well as their arrival time at our guesthouse. If you cannot provide us with an arrival time, we are not a good fit and another guesthouse or hotel would better suit you. In the event you do not provide us with an arrival time, we cannot guarantee we will be available for your arrival and you will need to wait for our return. Please alert us if your estimated arrival time changes.
Check-In / Check-Out Policy — Check-In is at 14:00. Check-out is at 11:00. We permit guests to arrive on their own between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00. Late arrivals (20:00 - 08:00) are only permitted for guests utilizing our airport pick-up service. We can check-in early arrivals between 08:00-14:00 only if your room is already prepared, and before 08:00 only if you have reserved the previous night. We do not permit late arrivals without utilizing our pickup service. Upon checkout we can store guest luggage until 20:00 on the day of your departure.
Pick-up Service — This service provides a certified driver who speaks English, processes check-ins, and grants guests access to their accommodation. Guests who are arriving at our guesthouse during our regular hours (08:00-20:00) may utilize this service for a fee as well. We require utilization of our airport pick-up service for all late arrivals. A late arrival in this case consists of someone whose flight lands at GIG (Rio de Janeiro Intl/Antonio Carlos Jobim Airport) after 18:00 OR at SDU (Santos Dumont Airport) after 19:00. Pick-Up service from GIG is R$180 and Pick-up service from SDU is R$130.
Minimum Stay — A minimum stay may be required for New Years, Carnival, holidays or special event bookings.
Currency & Payment — All room rates are quoted in Brazilian Reais. Any balance due at the time of your departure must be paid in full by credit card, debit card or in cash using Brazilian Reais.
Booking Guarantee and Cancellation Policy — A credit card is required to book a room and for a guarantee. All room reservations must be cancelled or changed a minimum of 22 days in advance of your arrival date. After this point, there are absolutely no cancellations or changes (early departure or less room nights) and no refunds will be offered. ****If you have booked through Expedia or one of it's affiliates, your card will be charged per their policy within 72 hours of booking your room reservation. You still may cancel your room reservation up to 22 days prior to your arrival for a full refund; but as in the policy above, after this point, there are absolutely no cancellations or changes (early departure or less room nights) and no refunds will be offered. ****
For non-Expedia room reservations, 21 days before your arrival your card will be charged for the full balance due. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO PROVIDE US WITH THE CVV CODE AND ENSURE PAYMENT BEFORE THIS DATE (WE DO NOT STORE THE CVV CODE FOR YOUR SECURITY) WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ANY ROOM RESERVATIONS IF WE CANNOT SECURE PAYMENT.

Special Booking Guarantee and Cancellation Policy — Applies to reservations made less than 22 days before their arrival date, Christmas, New Years, Carnival/OR three (3) or more rooms. We require full payment for all special bookings . After reserving your room, the credit or debit card on file will be charged the full balance within 72 hours. There are absolutely no cancellations or changes for special bookings as your payment is non-refundable. ***IF you prefer to pay with PayPal, no worries, just let us know and we will send you a payment request via email. ***
Travel Insurance - Due to the unpredictable nature of travel, we strongly urge you to purchase travel insurance. In the unforeseen situation that you need to cancel within our no cancellation/no refund time frame, we will be happy to work with your insurance company on your behalf.
Age Restrictions — We cannot accommodate guests under the age of 13.
Stairs — Casa Cool Beans B&B has four (4) floors and lots of stairs. It is not ideal for those with mobility issues.
Smoking — Smoking is not allowed in guest rooms, but is allowed in outdoor areas (except breakfast area) per local law.
Breakfast/Food Areas — A full breakfast to include eggs is served daily for registered guests between the hours of 08:00 and 10:30. The individual use of our kitchen and all supplies (food, plates, glasses, silverware, etc.) is absolutely off limits per Brazilian law!
Guests/Security — We have a night guard on this street. For the security of all our guests, outside visitors are not allowed under any circumstances.
Keys — Two (2) room keys are provided for each room. A charge of R$250 will be placed on your guest statement for replacement of the locks if one or more keys are lost or not returned; no exceptions. Original keys must be returned at checkout!
Complimentary Services — Free Wi-Fi is available to registered guests. A password will be provided at arrival. A guest computer is also available. Registered guests have free access to the pool from 09:00 - 21:00 daily; complimentary towels provided poolside.
A credit card is required to book and guarantee your room. The full balance will be charged to your credit card on file 21 days before your arrival.
Room charges for Special Bookings and Expedia (or one of its affiliates) will be charged within 72 hours of booking.
Special Bookings include Christmas, New Years, and Carnaval bookings, reservations made less than 22 days before arrival date, and bookings for three (3) or more rooms.
