Our lodge is a rustic retreat featuring six guest rooms all with a queen size bed and private bathroom, a great room with plenty of cozy seating around a circular fireplace, a TV area with DirecTV and a DVD player, lots of dining tables and chairs for eating or playing games, and a fully equipped Kitchen that you are welcome to use to prepare your other meals during your stay. We are located in the pristine wilderness of the Tahoe National Forest- with endless choices for outdoor recreation, or complete relaxation! We serve a hearty country breakfast, made with the freshest ingredients and served to meet your schedule. We cater to dietary requests or requirements to meet your needs.
Make our mountain retreat your destination for all kinds of outdoor activities such as: River Rafting, Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Fishing, Hunting, Dirt Biking, Horseback Riding, Bicycling, Mountain Bike Riding, Snow-Shoeing, Cross-Country Skiing, Snowmobiling and so much more!

We are located 12 miles North East of Foresthill CA in the Tahoe National Forest. Our lodge is a short distance to the Western States Trail, Sugar Pine Reservoir and Campground, Big Reservoir and Morning Star Campground, Robinson Flat Campground, Auburn State Recreation Area, and the scenic American River.

Sugar Pine Book

This room looks out the back of the lodge through a large picture window and is bright and airy. The Cedar Log Queen bed featuring a classic rustic look reminiscent of the Donner Party era. Private bath with a tub/shower combination, and a chair. Sugar Pines are the tallest and most massive pine tree, and has the longest cones of any conifer. It is native to the mountains of the Pacific coast of North America, from Oregon through California to Baja California.

A bright airy room that looks out the front of the lodge through a sliding glass door. This room highlight's winter in the Sierra Nevada Mountain's with sparking snow and teal blue skies. Cedar log Queen bed, log sitting chair, private bathroom with a stall shower. The oldest known Giant Sequoia tree based on ring count is 3,500 years old. Giant Sequoias are among the oldest living things on Earth. Sequoia bark is fibrous, furrowed, and may be 90 cm (3.0 ft) thick at the base of the columnar trunk. It provides significant fire protection for the trees.

This room looks out towards the woods on the back of the lodge through a large picture window. Decor is reminiscent of outdoor camping complete with Black and Red Buffalo Plaid, Cedar rocking chair and decorative Kerosene lanterns. Cedar log Queen bed, private bath with a tub/shower combination. Ponderosa Pines are rugged-looking. Lean. Enduring. The Ponderosa Pine is also one of America’s most abundant tree species. It is a mainstay in the lumber industry but has also been put to work in windbreaks, buffer strips, reclamation and mass landscape plantings.

This bright room looks out the back of the lodge through a large picture window. This room is wheelchair accessible featuring a Cedar log Queen bed, ceiling fan, private bathroom with a tub/shower combination. Douglas Fir trees have soft needles that are dark green - blue green in color and are approximately 1 - 1 ½ in. in length. The needles radiate in all directions from the branch. When crushed, these needles have a sweet fragrance. They are one of the top major Christmas tree species in the U.S.

This bright room looks out the front of the lodge through a large picture window. This room highlights fall in the Sierra Nevada Mountian's with it's Maple Leaf quilt. Cedar log Queen bed, sitting chair, private bathroom with a stall shower. Western red cedar is a tree that grows to a height of 125 ft (60 m) in moist soils in mixed coniferous forests. Red cedar is of major cultural importance to Native American tribes living in the Pacific Northwest. The wood, bark, limbs, and roots were used to provide many of the needs of the tribe ranging from shelter to cooking implements to medicine. Red cedar also has spiritual significance to some of these tribes and is used in ritual ways.

This room looks out the front of the lodge through a large picture window and is bright and airy. The Cedar log Queen bed features an eight-pointed star, or octagram, quilt that has a variety of different meanings based on the interpretation of the culture or spiritual system that is using the symbol. Private bath with a stall shower, and a chair. The red fir or silvertip fir, is a western North American fir, native to the mountains of southwest Oregon and California in the United States. It is a high elevation tree, typically occurring at 1,400–2,700 metres (4,600–8,900 ft) elevation, though only rarely reaching tree line. The name red fir derives from the bark color of old trees.

Terms & Conditions

Guests understand this is a wilderness and bears are present in the area. Christmas Tree Vineyard Lodge, LLC is not liable for damage to guest vehicles or other motorized units by wildlife while parked on the lodge property or at China Wall OHV parking lot. In addition, Christmas Tree Vineyard Lodge, LLC is not liable for any damage to vehicles parked at China Wall OHV during the snow season.

This is a non-smoking facility. There is no smoking in any room or common area of the lodge. All, pipes, cigarettes, cigars, etc. must be extinguished in a proper receptacle. For insurance reasons, the use of incense, candles, Sterno or any form of open flame anywhere on the premises is prohibited.

Each room is subject to inspection prior to departure and all additional charges payable at that time. Due to uncertainty of determining the exact cost of excessive cleaning or damage repair, the guest agrees to pay up to $500 as liquidated damages (credit card will be charged). If suit is filed for violation of the terms and conditions, the guest agrees to pay reasonable attorney fees and all incidental expenses incurred by Christmas Tree Vineyard Lodge, LLC in such a suit.

All guest pets are prohibited on property. “Service animals” are allowed with proper documentation. Please note there are guest friendly resident dogs at Christmas Tree Vineyard Lodge.

To ensure there is internet available for all guests, streaming movies, music and downloading files, is prohibited.

Payment Policy

A valid Master Card, Discover, American Express, or Visa is required at time of booking to guarantee the reservation. Card will not be charged unless cancellation fees are applied.

Upon your arrival full payment is required. We accept Master Card, Discover, American Express, Visa or cash. Regretfully, checks are not accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Standard Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to the date of arrival will be refunded the full amount less a $25 cancellation fee per room. Cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the date of arrival will be charged the full rate of one night per room reserved and any remaining fees will be refunded.

Holiday’s, 3 Day Weekends, Groups* and Event Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made 30 days or more prior to your arrival date will be refunded the full amount less a $25 cancellation fee per room. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the date of arrival will be charged the full rate of one night per room reserved and any remaining fees will be refunded.

*Groups consist of 4 or more rooms reserved. Reservations for the entire lodge consist of all six rooms occupied and vacant.
