Method of Payment: All major credit cards and debit cards with a Visa/Mastercard logo are accepted. If using a debit card or cash, please note we will place a hold for nightly room charges and incidentals. We require 100% prepayment at the time of reservation.
By making a reservation at the Heart of the Village Inn, you accept all policies and terms and conditions including but not limited to the following:
Taxes: Nightly room rates, retail sales, and any other charges are subject to applicable state and local taxes.
Cancellation: Please refer to our 'Cancellation Policies' section.
Check-in: 3pm-7pm. Check-out: 11am
Minimum Check-in Age: 21
Occupancy: Our King and Queen rooms have a maximum occupancy of 2 adults. Our Barstow and Harrington family suites have a maximum occupancy of 4 adults. Couples traveling with a young child and not requiring an additional bed are welcome in any room, save for the Webb Suite (adults only). There is a $20 additional breakfast fee per day for the 3rd person.
Bed Setup: Due to occupancy and room size limitations, no additional bed requests can be accommodated. Save for the Barstow Suite's Annex room, all rooms have non-splittable King or Queen beds. Infant cribs can be provided in certain rooms only based on availability.
Traveling with Children: Please contact us if you are traveling with children so we could explain your options to you, as not all rooms may be available or suitable for your needs. Children are absolutely not allowed in the Webb Suite.
Breakfast: Breakfast is offered daily between 8am and 9:30am. Reservations and requests for items on our extensive and versatile gourmet menu are required to be made by 7pm the night before. Please advise us at the time of making a reservation if you have any dietary restrictions, whether medical, ethical, or for reasons of conscience, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. While most ingredient modifications are possible, they may be subject to an upcharge.
Parking: Complimentary parking for vehicles no larger than a full size passenger car is available in the Inn's outdoor parking lot. Limit one vehicle per room/suite per stay. Street parking may be available in the area for oversized/additional vehicles. The Inn assumes no responsibility for any damage to guests' vehicles.
Smoking: Heart of the Village Inn is proud to be 100% non-smoking. If a guest chooses to smoke in a room or any other indoor area of the facility, a minimum charge of $500.00 will apply and a guest's reservation will be canceled immediately without a refund. Responsible smoking outside is permitted.
Pets: Absolutely no pets of any kind or size are allowed on the Inn's grounds and premises. If a guest brings a pet into an Inn room or any other indoor area of the facility, a minimum charge of $500.00 will apply and a guest's reservation will be canceled immediately without a refund.
Damage Recovery: Any damage caused to the property by any of our guests will be an immediate financial responsibility of such guests. Any and all non-negotiable damage charges will be determined solely by the Inn owners.
Final Cleaning Fees: Heart of the Village Inn is a "home away from home" and the expectation is that guests will treat it with respect and care. Any excessive trash left behind will result in a minimum $50 final cleaning fee. The Inn reserves the right to access the exact amount of final cleaning fees after check-out.
Property: The Inn is an 1886 historic Victorian residence converted into a short-term hospitality business located in the middle of a bustling town of Shelburne, a popular tourist area. We value all of our guests and do our best to provide an enjoyable experience and to address any reasonable issues that may arise.
Prospective guests may make reservations directly on our website, by phone, or in person by no later than 7 pm of the date of stay. We require 100% prepayment at the time of reservation.
General Cancellation Policy:
We ask that our prospective Guests only commit to making a reservation when they have firm travel plans. When a reservation is made, our available room inventory becomes restricted and other potential guests are no longer able to book the same room within the same or similar travel window. In order to offset business losses caused by cancellations, the Inn charges a cancellation fee of $50 per room if a cancellation is requested 31 or more days before arrival. Guests will be charged the total reservation amount if they cancel in the 30 days before arrival.
Reservation Change Policy:
In lieu of cancellation, Guests have an option to request a change to their previously made reservation dates. While situations and scenarios may differ, the Inn will do its best to accommodate such changes. A $50 per room change fee may apply if a change is requested within 30 days of the original arrival date, especially in the event of a reservation downgrade involving room rate or stay duration reduction. The Inn reserves the right to determine the exact amount of change fees.
Weather Related Travel Policy:
While Guests' bookings may be affected by weather or natural disasters, it is Guests' responsibility to manage their bookings and plan their travel around unforeseen circumstances. We do request that Guests get in touch with us as soon as possible to discuss. In an event of a no-show that was not discussed previously, the entire deposit will be forfeited. Weather-related changes to reservations requested by Guests prior to their expected arrival via email or over the phone are assessed a $50 change fee per room. The balance of the reservation amount is not refundable and may only be applied to a future stay.
