The Old Mill House is a 16th Century former corn mill situated in Little Petherick, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. The Mill sits adjacent to the Little Petherick Creek a subsidiary of The River Camel, the creek runs alongside the garden and can be enjoyed day and night. Little Petherick is located just over 2 miles south of Padstow, on the A389 and is centrally located for most of Cornwall's major attractions.

Terms & Conditions

We look forward to welcoming you.

When you make your booking with us either directly, on the telephone or via our booking engine, or via OTA's (Online Travel Agencies e.g. booking.com) you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Arrival and Departure:

Check in is available from 2.00pm to 6.00pm (14:00 to 18:00) on the day of arrival. Check-in outside of these times may be possible, please let us know in advance.

We ask that you please vacate your room by 10.30am on the morning of departure.

Reservations:

Please note the cancellation policy before committing to a reservation.

In order for us to confirm a reservation, credit/debit card details are required to secure your booking (Please see payment policy). No payment is taken from this card at this time. We will debit the card in the event of a cancellation with less than 7 full days notice or if the booking is a no show. (Please see cancellation policy). The card that you provide to secure the booking does not have to be the card used to make final payment.

There may be occasions where we do ask for a deposit (bookings at peak times/special events) we reserve the right to take a deposit payment. You will be informed of this at the time of booking.

Bookings made online may be subject to differing terms and conditions in force at the time of booking. This is to protect your security in carrying out the booking and providing credit card details over the internet.

Cancellation by the Guest:

We are a small, family run business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us. We understand that issues can arise and prevent plans, we will always try to assist with any cancellations and fee's that may arise and ask that you get in touch should there be an issue.

In the event of a cancellation with less than 7 full days notice the first night of your stay will be charged to the credit/debit card provided.

Guests who do not arrive without any notice or cancellation will be charged the total reservation price.

We advise that you take out a suitable insurance product to cover against costs such as cancellation fees for any reason.

Cancellation by us:

On the very rare occasions that it becomes necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Any payments that may have been made will be refunded in full. We will always attempt to book you into another local bed and breakfast of at least the same grading and in a similar standard of room should this new accommodation be higher in price The Old Mill House will pay the difference. Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions unless in exceptional circumstances.

Car Parking:

A public car park is available for guests use opposite The Old Mill House. This car park is pay and display owned by the Little Petherick Church and Village Hall. The rates for this car park are 50 pence per day and £2 per night. We ask our guests if they could obtain a ticket as it helps the local economy and provide funds for the upkeep of the church and village hall. Cars parked here are at owners risk.

Change of Room:

If a booking for a specific room cannot be honoured due to the room being unusable or due to circumstances beyond our control, we will transfer the booking to an alternative room, we will notify you should this situation arise.

Damage and Breakages:

The Mill is over 400 years old and we do our best to keep it in its best condition. We understand that accidents happen, please let us know of any damages and/or breakages as soon as possible as we can normally rectify them quickly. We do reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant and isn't reported but we hope to keep this to a rarity.

Use of Data:

Some of the data gathered during the course of a booking may be held on computer via our booking engine or other OTA's (online travel agents). We do not currently use any email marketing techniques, should this change in the future you will be notified and given an option to opt out.

Keys:

The keys given to you upon checking in have access to the building and your room 24 hours a day throughout your stay. We ask that you report any losses or misplaced keys to us as soon as possible due to security issues that may arise. Please return keys to us upon check out.

If you return home and realise you've taken the room with you, we ask that these be return posted to us via recorded delivery. Due to the cost of replacement keys, in the event of keys being lost by a guest we will charge £10.00 fee.

Liability:

We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees whilst acting in the course of their employment.

Lost Property:

We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. Please let us know as soon as possible and we will try our best to reunite you with your items. Any items that are left behind and not claimed after 28 days, will be disposed of.

Pets:

Well behaved dogs are welcome in most of our rooms, our labrador, Henry will be very pleased to have a new friend. If you have more than one dog or other pets that you would like to bring on holiday, please let us know before your arrival. Any damage to the room caused by pets, we ask that you notify us immediately and are treated as per the Damage and Breakages policy above.

Prices:

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time but this will not affect bookings already made.

Smoking:

Smoking is not permitted within any part of The Old Mill House. We do have a large garden where guests can smoke and ashtrays are available. Please note that guests who smoke in any of the rooms at the mill may be asked to leave immediately and may be liable for professional cleaning of any rooms (£100.00) and any outstanding balance of their stay. Vaping or the use e-cigarettes are also not permitted at The Old Mill House.

Termination Policy:

The Old Mill House reserve the right, at its discretion, without notice, to eject any person from the property where unacceptable behaviour, or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others is demonstrated. In such circumstances any outstanding account will be settled via the card details provided, no refunds will be made.

VAT:

All published rates are inclusive of VAT at the current rate (20%) VAT reciepts are available upon request.

Wi-Fi Access:

Wi-Fi is available throughout The Old Mill House and is free to use. We ask that this internet connection is used lawfully and in accordance with UK law.

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.

You acknowledge and agree that all intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, copyrights (including rights in software), trademarks, database rights, patents and inventions) in and relating to the service are owned by us and our licensors or contractors. Nothing in this agreement operates to transfer any such intellectual property rights to you.

This agreement is governed by the laws of England and the parties hereto submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

Payment Policy

Details of a Credit/Debit Card must be provided at the time of booking. No payment will be taken at time of booking and details will only be used in case of cancellation and/or amendment.

The Old Mill House is unable to accept American Express cards, we do however accept; Visa, Electron, Mastercard and Maestro (debit & credit cards). We also accept cash as payment for your stay, unfortunately cheques are not accepted.

Payment for your stay will be taken upon check out. We are fully licensed and drinks and/or food can be paid for upon check out also.

Cancellation Policy

The Old Mill House request at least 7 full days notice of any cancellation. With at least 7 full days notice no cancellation fee will be incurred. If less than 7 working days notice is given then the first nights stay will be payable as a cancellation fee. This payment will automatically be taken if less than 7 days notice is provided from the card details provided.

We understand that issues can arise and prevent plans, we will always try to assist with any cancellations and fee's that may arise and ask that you get in touch should there be an issue.
