Welcome to Pythouse Kitchen Garden!
This is no ordinary glamping site! The Victorian walled garden provides a totally unique and extraordinarily picturesque backdrop for your stay. We have designed the venue to suit the needs of the most discerning glamper.
Within this magical garden we run a fantastic restaurant and bar called Pythouse Kitchen Garden, serving home grown food and delicious garden inspired cocktails in a beautifully designed interior. Guests enjoy breakfast in the restaurant which is included in the price of your stay and are welcome to use the restaurant and bar as much as they choose. We can organise bespoke menus for private parties and special occasions.
As well as the tents, kitchen, showers and dining area (we'll come to that in a minute) there are several other areas in the orchard to enjoy including a wonderful fire circle with a brazier and stone seating for fireside stargazing amongst the apple trees at night and a bar at which you can eat your breakfast or drink a sundowner or two.
We provide a large dining or party marquee which can comfortably fit 24 people for a sit down lunch or dinner. The marquee is decorated beautifully with fresh garden flower arrangements, fairy lights and bunting. There are two BBQ's and a smoker so you can really cook up a storm. Feel free to pick as much fresh fruit and veg as you need for your meals. We grow everything from kiwis to artichokes right there in the garden.
Our 4 meter bell tents sleep 2 in great comfort and can fit up to 2 extra beds meaning 4 people can sleep in a top to tail arrangement. The tents are simple and comfortable with coir matting carpet underfoot, rugs, proper mattresses, crisp fresh linen, snug duvets, lanterns, freshly picked flowers from the garden and fairy lights.
The well equipped kitchen has everything you'll need for cooking, barbecuing and eating including outdoor crockery, glassware, cutlery, pots, pans, utensils and an electric kettle. The kitchen has sockets for other appliances you may like to bring. We provide a welcoming hamper of tea, coffee, fresh milk and biscuits.
The two bathrooms have been designed to make guests forget they are actually camping whilst they take a shower. They are extremely comfortable with smart Victorian style plumbing, hot showers and locally made Bramley bath and body products.
The glamping site is in the lower orchard which has its own gated access so you will have total privacy throughout your stay. Guests can leave the premises at any time and re-enter via the secure main gate.
Interaction with guests
Pythouse Kitchen Garden is open seven days a week and for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights so there is always a member of staff on hand to help make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Terms & Conditions
We have a minimum booking of 12 people and 2 nights when booking the glampsite for exclusive use and on a weekend unless the booking is for a wedding or party where we will allow exclusive use for a minimum of 12 people for one night only. If booking a tent for a special event using a promotional code, you may book individual tents on a first come first served basis.
The person who makes a booking (the guest) will be responsible for all persons included in the booking and should ensure that they are aware of these terms & conditions.
Breakfast is included in the price of your stay only when booking individual tents at the standard rate of £135 p/p per night and will be served in the restaurant at 9.30am. If you are part of a group booking with exclusive use of the glampsite, or have booked a bed for an event using a promotional code, breakfast is priced at £10 per person and will consist of our bacon and vegetarian breakfast baps, tea, coffee and orange juice. This will be served in the orchard unless special arrangements have been made by your host or party organiser.
Damages, Cleaning & Noise Disturbance Deposit
If making a group booking for exclusive use of the campsite a damages/cleaning/disturbance deposit of £250 will be required 14 days prior to arrival. Guests are responsible for leaving the accommodation in good order and in a clean condition; otherwise the deposit will/may be retained. Please note any damage to site facilities or to our accommodation, including when our grounds, tents, kitchen or bathrooms are left in an unsatisfactory state, will result in only a partial refund of the damages deposit or no refund at all depending on the severity of the damage, mess or disturbance. Please notify us of any damage or mess to the tent or its contents before your departure.
The campsite is situated in an area where peace and quiet must be respected. If there are complaints of disturbances from nearby residents arising from excessive music volume, shouting or any other loud activities, we reserve the right to retain the damages deposit and make a donation to the local parish.
Guest and Campsite Property
Any items left behind must be claimed within two weeks of departure. If relevant, postage and packing charges for the return of goods will apply. Guests are not permitted to remove any items from our accommodation including decor, flowers, equipment and sundries.
Should any campsite property, facilities, equipment, or inventory, be damaged wilfully, as a result of inappropriate usage or behaviour, or as a direct result of failing to respond to instructions from company staff you will be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of that item.
Campfires are only permitted in designated areas and must be confined to the supplied fire braziers. Please do not make fires anywhere else on the site. Any fires found outside of the designated areas will result in no refund of the damages deposit. Please ensure you use your fire brazier safely.
Waste Disposal & Recycling
Please do not drop litter. Glass and Cardboard waste must be placed separately in the relevant bins provided so that we can recycle. Wipes, sanitary waste, nappies, cloths etc must not be flushed down the WC’s. Bins are provided in the bathrooms. These items must be wrapped and put in the bin provided. Please empty any liquid waste (apart from cooking fat that will solidify) into the kitchen sink.
Please be aware, there is limited electricity at camp. Most guests appreciate and enjoy this opportunity to escape and get back to nature however this does mean limited lighting (other than in the kitchen and bathrooms where lighting is good) and the tents can be dark after sunset or on dark cloudy days under the tree canopy. This also means solar lighting is not effective as it has no light with which to recharge. Whilst there are tea lights for moving around in the dark or reading please bring a torch or battery lantern.
The campsite is in a beautiful rural location. Please therefore expect to meet some wildlife, including the odd deer, badger, fox, rabbit, squirrel, slow worm, grass snake, pheasant, spider, mouse, bird, fly, bee, wasp or other creature, which may make their way into or near to the site. If any of these creatures are encountered, do not panic, but contact the owner in a calm and reasonable way - but only if the creatures become a serious menace. Otherwise, just open a gate, window or a door and let them out, as this is usually what they prefer. Owners reserve the right to take no action if they do not consider the existence of the wild life to be a serious threat to health.
Pets are allowed with prior approval. Pets are allowed in the tents at your own risk. You will be responsible for any damage or mess that may be caused by them. Any damage or mess may result in your damages deposit being only partially refunded.
The Site, Security and Staff
The campsite is a self catering experience so there are not staff present all the time, or they may be working at the restaurant. When you arrive there is a small chance you may have to find your own way to your tent however we do strive to give you an accompanied check in experience. We give you exclusive use of the orchard so the general public are not allowed into camp, the only people you should see are other campers, staff or estate workers. The tents are not lockable and we have never had a problem with theft however we do advise guests not to leave valuables unattended inside.
The campsite is in rural farmland where countryside codes are strictly adhered to. Please therefore stick to public rights of way and leave a gate as you find it - shut it behind you if it was shut when you came to it. We reserve the right to retain the damages deposit should local farmers have been inconvenienced due to a gate being left open or for any other reason such as trespass.
By booking and coming to the campsite you agree to be responsible for your children and any dependants of children you are in charge of and your own welfare. You agree to take all reasonable precautions against personal injury, injury to others and damage to the site, gardens, facilities and tents, such as regarding litter, fire, noise after 11pm. Anything you bring to the campsite or wider gardens and any damage or loss to your possessions is at your own risk. You use the facilities and amenities at the camp and wider gardens at your own risk, e.g. the camp fire and barbecues. Candles and tea lights that are used in the tents must be within the candle holders and containers provided when alight. The Company accepts no responsibility from any loss or injury arising from being in the campsite or wider gardens. By booking and acknowledging these Terms and Conditions, you are aware of the risks, hazards and dangers of personal injury in entering the campsite and gardens.
The following are not permitted inside of the tents: Gas appliances of any kind, fires, BBQs or smoking. Naked flames for lighting candles and lanterns are used in/by our tents only when occupied, and are used at your own risk.
Emergencies & Telephone Numbers
In case of an emergency, the closest hospital by car is Salisbury District Hospital, Odstock Rd, Salisbury, Wiltshire SP2 8BJ, (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). A simple first aid kit is kept under the sink. In the event of anything more serious where you need the emergency services to arrive, dial 999 and give them the postcode SP3 6PA and the address Pythouse Kitchen (or sometimes known as ‘Walled’) Garden .
By booking your stay at Pythouse Kitchen Garden you accept that the owners of the site are absolved of all liability for accidents, loss or damage to guests' personal property. We reserve the right to ask guests not observing these terms and conditions to leave the site without refunds and with immediate effect.
The company cannot accept responsibility from any loss, damage, or expense arising from industrial action, terrorist activity, adverse weather conditions or any other event outside the control of the company. (For clarity, this includes guests parking their cars and driving throughout the site, entirely at their own risk).
If booking the entire site for exclusive use, we require a 50% deposit to be paid in full at the time of your booking. The deposit is refundable strictly only up to 60 days before arrival.
The balance will be due 14 days prior to arrival.
After the deposit is paid, if individual guests have to cancel, no refund of their deposit amount can be offered on a per person basis but the balance due will be amended to account for the reduction in guests.
Where a guest fails to pay their balance by the due date the booking may be cancelled and the deposit retained.
A damages/cleaning/disturbance deposit of £250 will also be taken 14 days prior to arrival.
You can cancel your booking and receive a full refund of your 50% deposit up to 60 days prior to arrival. No refund can be offered if cancelation happens after this point.
If individual guests have to cancel, no refund of their deposit amount can be offered on a per person basis but the balance due will be amended to account for the reduction in guests.
Your booking is a legally binding contract and in the event of cancellation or curtailment no refund can be given.
