Terms & Conditions
By making a reservation with Sea Star Suites Tofino, you are acknowledging that you have read and understood the terms and conditions below.
BEFORE YOUR STAY
Sea Star Suites Tofino accepts Visa and Mastercard. We will process all payments 7 days prior to arrival. Service charge of 5% will be charged to all bookings.
Check-in & Check-out
Check-in is between 4pm-8pm. Check-out is at 10am. Due to a tight cleaning schedule, check-out time will be strictly enforced. You must contact us if you need to make alternate arrangements.
Cancellation within 24 hours of booking will not be charged (free cancellation). Reservations cancelled with more than 7 days notice will be charged 1 night as cancellation fee.. If guests cancel with less than 7 days notice the entire cost of the reservation will be charged. Early departure does not warrant any refund of fees paid.
Animals are not allowed at Sea Star Suites Tofino.
Renters under 19 years of age must have prior approval from Sea Star Suites Tofino.
Renters arriving with more than the allowed number of guests at their rental property (as listed on the properties listing page) will be charged $50 for each extra person, per night. Alternately, and at the sole discretion of the Sea Star Suites Tofino, your reservation can be cancelled and the cost of the entire reservation will be forfeited.
DURING YOUR STAY
The individual making the reservation and paying for the rental shall also be responsible for the conduct of all other persons in the rental, or on the rental property during their stay- whether a member of your party or not.
Most Suites in Sea Star Suites Tofino are child friendly, but they are not necessarily child proof. If you are arriving with children, please check for any hazards that may harm your child.
All interior spaces of all Sea Star Suites Tofino are smoke free. Guests are welcome to smoke outside, but please dispose of cigarette butts properly. Let's keep Tofino clean. There will be a $200 cleaning fee if it is discovered that you’ve smoked in your unit.
You will receive instructions in your confirmation letter about the number of parking spaces available at your rental. Guests arriving with more vehicles than there are parking spots available will be responsible for locating a suitable additional parking space.
Instructions for keys/codes will be provided to you upon arrival.
Sea Star Suites Tofino are located in residential neighborhoods. If you’re looking for a place to party, we suggest you look elsewhere for accommodation. Quiet time is 11pm-8am. Any noise complaints from other guests or neighbors during these hours will, at the sole discretion of Sea Star Suites Tofino, be charged a $200 noise fine and/or have their reservation cancelled with no refund.
All suites in Sea Star Suites Tofino have kitchens equipped with a fridge, freezer, stove/portable stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, kettle, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, glassware, etc. A starter pack of coffee, tea, sugar, and whitener is provided. Dish cloths, paper towels, and dish soap are also provided.
There will be enough bath towels for each guest in the rental, plus a few extras. Do not take the bath towels to the beach. There will be separate beach towels available for your use. Sea Star Suites Tofino has found it very wasteful and environmentally unfriendly to stock our property with single use soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. Please bring your own.
Hot Tubs & Saunas
If you are staying at a rental that has a hot tub or sauna, you agree to abide by the specific posted rules for the hot tub or sauna at that rental. Hot tubs and saunas will be checked on your arrival day, your departure day, and every 3 days during your stay. At the sole discretion of Sea Star Suites Tofino management, if the hot tub needs to be drained, cleaned, and re-filled, you will be charged a $150 hot tub maintenance fee. Your credit card will also be charged for any damage to the hot tub or sauna due to misuse, and/or damaged or missing parts.
Please shut off all valves and dials, and ensure that all food residue is scraped and/or burned off after cooking. The BBQ should be left ready for the next guest to use when you depart. Any BBQ requiring extra cleaning will result in a $50 charge being applied to your credit card.
Please rinse all beach gears outside, especially wetsuits and surfboards.
Garbage & Recycling
Garbage and recycling must be disposed of in the provided bins. Please check with our on-site caretaker. At no time is garbage to be left outside. The crows will be into it almost immediately during daylight hours, and bears or racoons could get into it if left overnight.
Weather & Power Outages
No refunds will be given for storms or power outages.
Currently the cleaning fee is already included in each new reservation. Sea Star Suites Tofino are professionally cleaned after each guest, but you are still required to leave your rental in the acceptable condition when checking out.
◦ Return all furniture, appliances, beds, etc., to their original location
◦ Place all soiled towels in the bathtub or shower. Do not strip the bed linens.
◦ Clean dishes in the dishwasher or drying rack are acceptable
◦ Place garbage and recycling in the provided containers
Daily cleaning during your stay is not included in the rental rate, but can be arranged for an additional fee of $30/hour, per cleaner, plus tax. If your rental requires additional cleaning above and beyond the normal time allotted, your credit card will be charged an additional fee of $30/hour, per cleaner, plus tax, for the extra housekeeping required.
AFTER YOU LEAVE
Upon your departure, your rental will be assessed for any damage and/or missing items. These items include, but are not limited to:
◦ The property or its contents, beyond normal wear and tear
◦ Linens, towels and bedding, stained or missing
◦ Carpet, wood/tile floor stains
◦ Furnitures, kitchen counters and appliances
◦ Interior walls, windows and window coverings
◦ Breakage, theft or any other damage
If any deficiencies have been found, your credit card will be charged to recover the costs.
Lost & Found
Sea Star Suites Tofino will not be held responsible for any items left behind. We will do our best to contact you and hold the item for 30 days. If requested, items will be returned at your expense.
Limitation of Liability
Sea Star Suites Tofino acts as the owner of the property, and is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises: Neither, responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest.
By accepting this reservation, it is agreed that all guests are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises by themselves, or others whom they invite to use the premises, and hereby waive any claims of liability or negligence against Sea Star Suites Tofino for any accidents, injuries or illness that occurs while on the premises or its facilities.
Sea Star Suites Tofino will endeavor to provide the accommodation as described at the time of reservation, or to provide alternate equivalent accommodation.
There are, however, certain matters that are beyond the control of Sea Star Suites Tofino. They include, but are not limited to:
◦ Loss of the accommodation by fire, flood, earthquake, tsunami, or other damage
◦ Changes of ownership or termination of management services
◦ Changes in the law, seizure, or other loss of the accommodation property
Other than issuing a refund, Sea Star Suites Tofino will assume no responsibility or liability arising out of the accommodation not being available or suitable. Sea Star Suites Tofino assumes no responsibility or liability for injury, loss, or damage arising out of the use or occupation of the accommodation.
