Sourwood Inn has 12 guestrooms and a cabin. It is situated on 100 acres about 20 minutes from Asheville and 2 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. You can enjoy the peace and quiet of our mountains from your private deck or bath tub. Each room has a wood burning fireplace. Dinner is available Thursday through Sunday nights by reservation only. We look forward to your visit.

Room 01 Queen Bed Book
Room One is located on the main level of the inn, has oak hardwood floors and cotton rugs. It is a staff and guest favorite due to the copious amount of natural light, comfortable ambiance and simple but thoughtful décor. The Matisse cut out print is definitely appreciated.

Room 02 King Bed Book
Room Two is located on the main level of the inn, has oak hardwood flooring and light colored cotton rugs which contrast nicely with the rooms rich warm hues of red and gold. There are two arm chairs and leather ottoman which create an inviting reading and fireplace gazing space. This spacious room has a king bed with many pillows.
Room 03 King Bed Book
Room Three is located on the main level of the inn, has oak hardwood flooring and corn blue cotton rugs. The spaciousness of the room is increased with the tall ceilings, light popcorn walls and the flood of natural light. There is a comfy oversized chair that is always ready for a body and book. The Grant Wood print is a favorite.
Room 04 Double Bed Book
Room Four, located on the main level of the inn, has oak hardwood flooring. This is a spacious end room with four additional windows affording a delicious cross breeze in the warmer months. There are two comfy reading chairs. The Pierre Bonnard print “Boy Playing in the Sand” is one of the innkeeper’s favorite. This room easily accommodates a rollaway bed for an extra person.
Room 05 Double Bed Book
Room Five, located on the upper level of the inn is an end room. The five extra windows and extended views of the Reems Creek Valley below give this spacious room a “tree house” feel. This is a frequently requested room due to its quietness and restful décor. This room easily accommodates a rollaway be for an extra person. There is a nice print of Will Henry Steven’s, a featured artist of the Blue Spiral Gallery in downtown Asheville.
Room 06 King Bed Book
Room Six is located on the upper level. This spacious room has a fantastic view of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Reems Creek Valley below. The smartly slipcovered reading chairs and ottoman beg to be occupied for long periods of the afternoon. The earth tones, plush comforter and natural subdued lighting encourage deep relaxation.
Room 07 King Bed Book
Room 7 is located on the upper level with one of the best views in the inn. One can watch the sunrise while lying in bed. There is copious amount of natural light during the day or one can enjoy the warm glow from the fireplace in the evening. The fresh flower vase in this room was made by Laura Vik, the innkeepers daughter, a potter in Charlottesville Va. The Tom Turner print is a favorite of Nat’s.
Room 08 Queen Bed Book
You will feel more than at home in this upper level queen room. The views from the balcony encourage long moments of reflection and inspiration. The bed with its many pillows and flowery quilt beckon lingering mornings. The two ticking slipcovered chairs provide the perfect cozy spot in front of the fireplace.
Room 09 Queen Bed Book
Check out a perfect specimen of the Sourwood Tree outside of this upper level room. The Sourwood tree known for its whimsical woody growth is reflected in the ambiance of Room 9. This is the only room with a four poster bed. The wildflower comforter will feel cozy as you witness the sunrise each morning. The Thistle and Butterfly print is by Sally Middleton, a well-known local artist.
Room 10 King Bed Book
Spend a romantic weekend in Room Ten, our most sought after room. This spacious suite has its own separate sitting room with two comfy swivel chairs on either side of the wood-burning fireplace. The lush earth tones and fir wood trim temp you not to leave for your entire stay.
Room 11 Queen Bed Book
This spacious upper level room is located on the western side of the inn, just off the upstairs sitting room. The extra window facing west affords a sunset view or the chance to witness the day breaking while slowly rousing in bed. The clean lines of the Scandinavian style bed along with the restful and cheerful quilt guarantee a good sleep. The mission rocking chair is so comfortable and can be moved from fireplace to mountain view with ease.
Room 12 Queen Bed Book
One of our most requested rooms for its natural light, bright colors and spacious layout. It also affords a special feeling of seclusion being that it is an end room reached by its own short hallway. The two vibrant Matisse prints further the good vibes felt while enjoying this space. A cushioned mission rocker accompanies a navy slipcovered armchair perfect for fireplace philosophy or playing cards.
Sassafras Cabin Book
Sassafras Cabin is nestled in the woods about 50 yards from the main inn. It offers the same Sourwood experience with an added element of privacy. The entrance to the cabin is through a generous screened-in porch. From the porch there are French doors that open into the living room which is surrounded with windows. The feeling of being outside, while in, is unmistakable.
The cabin has two full baths, a complete kitchen, and a bedroom loft with a queen size bed. The sofa in the living area opens to a full bed for extra guests. A Jotul wood-burning stove keeps the cabin cozy in the winter. Guests staying in the cabin have full access to the inn and its amenities.
Terms & Conditions
We are looking forward to your stay with us. Check-in is 3:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. There is a seven day cancellation policy at Sourwood Inn. If you plan on eating dinner with us on the evening of your arrival, please let us know at least a day ahead. We serve dinner Thursday through Sunday nights from 6:30-8:00 p.m. by reservation only. We do not sell beer or wine, but you are welcome to bring your own. Thank you for helping us out with a few of these details.

- Reservations made on-line are not guaranteed - some rooms may get booked by phone and still show as available on-line.
Your room will be held with the credit card you gave when making your reservations.
Sourwood Inn has a 7 day cancellation policy for eleven months of the year. During the month of October, our cancellation policy is 3 weeks.
