Terms & Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made for the Monastery. We kindly ask that you take a moment to read them prior to making a Booking.

The Monastery enters into this Agreement as principal for Bookings made for the stay.
1. In these Terms and Conditions the following definitions apply:
“We" means St. Mary's Monastery (Reg. Charity No: Scotland SC039359 England and Wales 252041) whose registered office is at Kinnoull, Hatton Road, Perth, PH2 7BP, Scotland.
“Booking” means the booking for accommodation, functions and/or any other services or items made with us.
“Contract” means the Booking and these Terms, and any other terms and conditions stated to apply to the Booking.
“The Monastery” means the premises for which your Booking is made.
“Terms” means these terms and conditions.
“Websites” means www.kinnoullmonastery.co.uk or any other website owned or operated by us.

2. General
St. Mary’s, Kinnoull Management accepts no responsibility or liability (other than as a direct result of its own negligence) for any injury, personal loss or damage to personal property belonging to Hirers or their delegates/attendees, or for their motor vehicles and contents. Management accepts no responsibility or liability (other than as a direct result of its own negligence) for any injury, personal loss or damage to personal property belonging to Hirers or their delegates/attendees, or for their motor vehicles and contents.
St. Mary’s, Kinnoull Management decision will be final over determining any questions arising in relation to the interpretation of these Terms and Conditions.
St. Mary’s, Kinnoull is a non-smoking area and there must be sensitivity in the use of mobile telephones in communal areas. You are also required to observe the Health & Safety and fire regulations, and evacuation instructions.

2. Bookings
All Bookings at the Monastery are subject to these Terms.
All Bookings are confirmed in writing. They must be made on our Booking Form and returned with signed Terms and Conditions.
For provisional bookings i.e. booking made without a deposit;
 * Bookings to be held within three months will only be held for up to one week
 * Bookings to be held within a longer period of three months will only be held for up to one month
 * After these timeframes reservations will cease and may be reserved by another guest.

3. Charges
A deposit, cancellation charge and other conditions may apply to certain rates, as specified.  Prices shall be charged in the local currency of the Monastery and any currency conversion facility is provided as an approximation tool only.
Price lists for additional items, such as additional meals, are available on request in the Monastery.

The Monastery can charge you in the following instances:
*For the deposit required to secure the booking.
*For your booked stay in the Monastery and additional meals if required.
*For any damage done to the room or an equipment during your stay that is discovered after you have left the hotel.
*For the price of the room in the case of late cancellation or no show as per our cancellation policy.

3. Check-in and Check-out time
Unless otherwise stated on the booking confirmation, Guests may check-in at any time from 2.00 p.m. on the scheduled day of arrival. 
On the day of departure we kindly ask all guests to vacate their rooms by 10.00am. Late check-out after this time can be requested subject to availability and will be charged at an hourly rate at the discretion of the Monastery.
Rooms are subject to maximum occupancy rules set by the Monastery. If you would like further details please contact the Monastery.

4. Groups
The arrival and departure time, the list of group members, dietary and mobility requirements, equipment need must be confirmed at least 14 days prior the booking.
An increase to number of guests or meals can be only considered 72 hours before the event.
Request to reduce number of group members can be done up to 7 days before the booking. If the number will be reduced 7 days or less before the booking, charges will apply.

Payment Policy

Price per person includes full board.
Full board consist of:
- an evening meal;
- breakfast;
- lunch.

Full payment of balance is due on the last day of your booking.
If you made credit arrangements with us, invoiced accounts must be settled in full within 7 days of the end of the booking.

For group bookings a 20% deposit of the estimated charge is required.

For private individual bookings a 10% deposit of the estimate charge is required.

A deposit of £60 is required for preached retreats.

Deposits are non-refundable.

Cancellation Policy

CANCELLATION

Provisional bookings may be cancelled by telephone.
Confirmed bookings may be cancelled in writing (by post or by email).

If any booking is cancelled less than 48 hours prior to arrival the full cost of the booking will apply.

Deposits are non-refundable in cases of cancellation.

Should there be any changes to your travel plans and you need to cancel, please let us know:

- Short stay (1-4 nights): at least 48 hours prior to your arrival date to avoid being charged one night’s accommodation;

- Long stay (more than 4 nights): at least 5 days prior to your arrival to avoid being charged 50% of the total amount of your stay.

NO SHOWS

If you do not cancel your reservation and do not show up, you will be charged for the full amount of all reserved nights.

GROUPS

If a number of guests is reduced 7 days or less before the booking, a charge of 50% of rooms rates will apply.
