The Ayrlington

Built of golden Bath stone,The Ayrlington is a large and handsome English Heritage listed building set in a splendid walled oriental garden with exceptional views of the City and its medieval Abbey. Bath's magnificent historic sites, speciality shops and excellent restaurants are all just a five minutes level stroll away.

The Ayrlington's elegant and tranquil interior is a graceful blend of English and Asian antiques, artwork, fine fabrics and Egyptian cotton bedlinen - all 19 bedrooms have an individual theme and are beautifully furnished, some with four poster beds.

Privately owned and managed, the emphasis is on creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquillity in the centre of Bath's vibrant city centre. The Ayrlington has a licensed residents' bar, secure on-site private parking at an additional cost of £10.00 per day and is entirely non smoking. We do not accept children under 5 years of age.

The Ayrlington's ongoing commitment to quality has brought some well deserved and hard earned awards - five stars from The AA and Visit Britain, AA Premier Collection, a listing in The Good Hotel Guide and multiple Bath in Bloom garden awards.

Our only superior double is called Chinese. A very spacious room located at the front of the building, over-looking Pulteney Road. The room is en-suite with a walk-in shower. The Chinese room is located on the ground floor and has a King Size bed (5’0 x 6’6″). This room can also accommodate 1 extra person on a single sofa bed at an extra charge of £44.95 per night.

The four large and elegant Superior King/Twin rooms are all at the front of the house excluding Bamboo room and do not have views of our gardens. Victorian is on the 1st floor; Orchid is on the lower ground floor and has a limited external view. Tulip is on the top floor. All superior king/twin rooms have shower only excluding Bamboo room which has shower over bath.
All Four rooms can be made up as either a Super King or Twin. Additionally, Tulip can be made up as a triple with an additional bed in the room.
Please note, there is no lift.

Siena is located on the first floor and is the only room in the category without views of our gardens. All rooms are en-suite with power showers or showers over the baths. There is no lift.

Terms & Conditions

The Hotel reserves the right to refuse any booking for any good reason.

Children under 5 years of age cannot be accommodated at the hotel.

Parking at the hotel can only be guaranteed from 2 pm check-in time.

Parking before 2 pm is subject to availability only.

Only 1 parking bay is provided per room booked at an additional charge of £10.00 per day.

Please note that if you are making a group reservation of more than 2 rooms the Ayrlington is unable to accommodate you all sitting together in our breakfast room, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

We are strictly non-smoking throughout. If we find evidence of smoking in the rooms, a £50 fine will be levied from the credit card provided to cover damage/ cleaning costs.

Lost property will be held for 28 days, if not claimed within this timescale the items will be donated to charity or returned to the issuing organization where applicable.

Payment Policy

Card details are taken to secure your booking only and full payment is required on departure unless you have chosen an advance purchase option via a booking agent. We accept Visa, Mastercard but regret that cheques and cash are not accepted.

Our check in time is from 2pm with check-out by 10.30am, however, if there is a requirement to arrive at the hotel earlier we will do our best to arrange a check-in or hold luggage until the room is ready.

Late checkout - up to 11:30am is available for a charge of £20

Cancellation Policy

Once we have confirmed your booking, we will require at least 72 hours notice prior to your arrival day of any cancellation and you must have received a cancellation confirmation from us.

If you booked through an agency (Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, Visit Bath, Late Rooms), please cancel your booking through the agency at least three days prior to your arrival date.

If shorter or no notice is given we will charge your credit card in full.
