The structure of the Pipers Rest is not suitable for young children, which is why we are not able to cater for children at the Piper's Rest. There is no capacity for extra beds in the rooms.
The Piper's Rest is a non- smoking property.
We reserve the right to seek compensation for any damage done to the property during the course of your stay.
Here at the Pipers Rest, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint and have implemented the following sustainability practices, in an effort to minimise our effect on the environment:
One of the key sustainability practices at Pipers Rest is the removal of single-use plastics. We have made a conscious effort to eliminate plastic straws, water bottles, and packaging wherever possible, and have replaced them with eco-friendly alternatives such as reusable water bottles, toiletry bottles and glass jars.
Another initiative that Pipers Rest has implemented is the use of a breakfast order form to reduce food waste. Guests can indicate their preferred breakfast options on the form, and the kitchen staff will only prepare what is needed. This not only reduces food waste, but also ensures that guests are served fresh, made-to-order meals. Left over food is either sent to a local farm or composted in the garden at Pipers Rest. This ensures that organic waste is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner, and also helps to support local agriculture.
In season, fresh vegetable and fruit produce comes straight from our garden.
Pipers Rest also harnesses the power of the sun with their solar PV system. The system not only provides electricity to the bed and breakfast, but also feeds excess energy back into the grid, making it a net-zero establishment.
Lastly, Pipers Rest gives guests the choice of having daily room service to reduce chemical and energy usage. By offering this option, guests can opt to have their rooms cleaned and refreshed only when needed, thereby reducing the amount of water, cleaning products, and energy used. Guests simply hang out a sign on the door if they wish to avail of the room cleaning service, making it a hassle-free and convenient option.
Rooms may be reserved by providing details of a valid credit/debit card. Full payment is required on the DAY OF ARRIVAL. We reserve the right to pre-authorise your credit/debit card at any time after your booking has been confirmed.
Cancellations must be made by email firstname.lastname@example.org at least 24 hours prior to your planned arrival date (eg for a reservation made for 3rd January, you would have to cancel by 11.59pm on the 1st January) to avoid any cancellation charges. Cancellation emails will be confirmed by us within 24hrs of receipt. For cancellations with less than 24 hours notice, you will be obliged to pay the full amount of the first night's stay and your card will be charged accordingly. In the event of a "no show" you will be obliged to pay the total amount of the reservation and we will charge your card accordingly. We recommend that you purchase travel insurance, in case you need to cancel your booking at short notice. In the event of you cancelling a booking, we will send a confirmation email to you
