Terms & Conditions

We look forward to welcoming you to Calçada Guesthouse. When you make your booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.

Arrival and Departure
The Guesthouse does not have a reception so we ask that you contact us in advance of your arrival with your approximate time of arrival so we can meet you at the Guesthouse. Check-in is available from 2.00pm on the day of arrival, however, if you arrive before this time you are welcome to relax in the communal area whilst we prepare your room.
We ask that you please vacate your room by 11.00am on the morning of departure. You will be charged the equivalent to the room(s) single night rate for late departure

Reservations
Please note the cancellation policy before committing to a reservation.
In order for us to confirm a reservation, we require 50% (of the total of your room rate) as a non-refundable booking fee. This payment will automatically be deducted from your credit/debit card using the details you provide. Processing fees will be charged on top of the reservation cost if applicable. If the payment processing system is unable to debit the amount we will contact you as your reservation is not confirmed until the deposit is received.

Cancellation by the Guest
We are a small business, so cancellations can have a big impact on us, especially if we have turned away potential guests in favour of someone who has already booked and who then cancels. We do, however, appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can intervene, and we try to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible in such cases.
Should you wish to cancel you have 7 days prior to your stay to cancel without incurring further charges beyond the 50% non refundable booking deposit. Any cancellation or modification within 7 days of your stay will incur the full cost of the reservation. If you fail to check in at the Guesthouse, and you have not cancelled your booking, the Guesthouse will impose a "no show" fee. The "no show" is the total price of the booking. You will be charged another day for late departure. Guests who cancel their reservation because of a coronavirus infection will no longer be eligible for a voucher or refund.
We advise that you take out a suitable insurance product to cover against unexpected costs such as flight cancellations, cancellation fees, health insurance, etc.

Cancellation by Us
Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking we will contact you immediately. Should you wish to, we will assist to help you book into another local accommodation with a similar standard of room(s). Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.

Car Parking
We advise against driving into the historic centre as the streets are difficult to navigate and parking is for residents only. There are two free car parks close to the Guesthouse. Upon making a reservation we will send you directions to these car parks. Cars parked here are at owner’s risk.
Damage, Breakages and Missing Items
Please take care of the Guesthouse. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur especially if you accidentally spill something – it’s much easier to clean if we know what it is and act quickly. We do not normally charge for breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant. If any items are missing after your stay we will charge this onto your stay.

Keys
You have access to the building and your room 24 hours a day throughout your stay using a set of keys given to you when you register on arrival. You have full responsibility of these keys for the duration of your stay. Lost keys will be charged at €20.00 per set.

Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees whilst acting in the course of their employment.

Children and babies
We regret that children and babies, under 16 years of age, cannot be accommodated in any of the rooms within the Guesthouse. Any children above this age must be accompanied by an adult and must stay in a room with an adult.

Lost Property
We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. There may be a minimum charge to cover postage and packaging.

Payment
Payment is due on the morning of departure and we accept credit and debit cards as well as cash. Processing fees will be charged on top of the reservation cost if applicable.

Airport Transfers
If you would like an airport transfer please tell us in advance so we can organise and confirm. We will require flight details including flight number and arrival time. Payments for the transfers are to be paid in cash only to the driver.

Pets
Pets are not permitted in the Guesthouse.

Prices
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings already made.

Smoking
By law smoking is NOT permitted within any part of the Guesthouse. The smoke alarm will be triggered if it detects smoke in any part of the building. Smoking is not permitted on the private patios adjacent to the rooms. We do provide ashtrays on the roof terrace if you wish to smoke there.

Termination Policy
Calçada Guesthouse reserve the right, at its discretion, to terminate, without notice, an individuals stay where deemed necessary through unacceptable behaviour or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others (Please note that non compliance of our non smoking policy may constitute termination). In such circumstances any outstanding account must be settled, no refunds will be made.

VAT & Tourist Tax
All published rates are inclusive of VAT and Tourist Tax at the current rate.

Wi-Fi Access
By using our Wi-Fi Service you automatically agree to the terms and conditions of use in force at the time.
We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time.
